This is the work of a really interesting artist, Juliana Santacruz Herrera.  She has taken the potholes of Paris and transformed them with her interventions…..she takes long lengths of dyed fabric, braids and then coils them into the shallow breaks in the pavement on Paris’ city streets.

It’s just such a simple and effective idea, and I particularly like the one where there is some grass integrated – mixing hard and softscape with found object.  Really nice.

All images are courtesy of Juliana’s Flickr Stream – there’s a video there too – awesome!
